R&D and innovation capability is of great importance for a country's economic growth, competitiveness, and sustainable development.

İGSAŞ is the solution partner of the ‘Closed Vertical Farming Application and R&D Center’ project, implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Istanbul at the end of 2022, marking a new era in the Turkish agriculture sector. In this project, which is located on the -8th floor of the Kağıthane Municipality Car Park in Istanbul, 30 meters below ground, high-quality green products are produced at the world’s second-deepest agricultural production point. This project, which benefits from the knowledge of the İGSAŞ R&D team and the company’s 52 years of experience, will be a guiding light for future investors. To date, 7,000 students have received training at the facility.

The studies carried out in the R&D center are of great importance for achieving sustainable agriculture goals. Accordingly, 4 patents and 11 national/international articles have been published at the R&D center.

Farmer meetings are held where field trials with farmers and the results obtained from these trials are shared, and information on R&D projects is provided, promoting the development of sustainable agriculture practices.

Leader Farmer Soil Analysis Project: This project aims to teach farmers the importance of soil analysis and correct soil analysis techniques. Within the scope of the project, soil analysis was conducted on approximately 50,000 decares of agricultural land with 23 different dealers and 173 farmers.

İGSAŞ Field Days is a social responsibility project that aims to increase agricultural productivity in our country by providing farmers with information about advanced agricultural techniques. This project offers training on proper fertilization, irrigation, and seed selection.

İGSAŞ contributes to education by supporting educational institutions such as Kütahya Kindergarten and İGSAŞ Secondary School.
