İGSAŞ R&D Center
For over 53 years, our R&D and product development efforts have served the Turkish industry and agriculture. At the end of 2018, our company applied to the Ministry of Industry to continue developing sustainable new technologies and products in a separate unit, officially gaining the right to become an R&D Center in the same year.
In our R&D Center located in Kütahya, we employ full-time chemists, chemical engineers, mechanical engineers, agricultural engineers, and support staff with doctoral, master's, and bachelor's degrees specializing in their fields.
The primary goal of our R&D Center is to shape the future of our company by using the power of innovation to quickly adapt to market dynamics, discover opportunities, and integrate technological advancements, while adapting to continuously evolving economic conditions. Our main objectives include producing innovative and competitive technological projects in the fields of agriculture and defense industry by following global developments, developing new products and alternative technologies based on patents and utility models, conducting value-added projects in collaboration with domestic and international universities and technoparks, and actively participating in information networks.
Our R&D Center also conducts significant studies aimed at developing projects that will reduce carbon emissions and provide energy and water savings to comply with international regulations.
İGSAŞ R&D Center conducts its scientific studies with its technological infrastructure and competent personnel through national and international TÜBİTAK TEYDEB & Eureka / Eurostars / Horizon projects.
R&D Center Activities
In our short-medium-long-term R&D projects carried out with the mottos of “National Industry” and “National Agriculture”, aimed at eliminating the dependence of the country's industry and agriculture on foreign sources by realizing university-industry collaborations, which are the establishment purpose of R&D Centers,
- Developing low-carbon fertilizer technologies,
- Green hydrogen-based production methods,
- Optimization of processes that reduce greenhouse gas emissions,
- Use of local agricultural waste as fertilizer,
- Technologies that protect soil health,
- Genetic modification strategies,
- Smart nutrient management,
- Optimizing energy and raw material consumption with artificial intelligence algorithms,
- Special fertilizer formulations for disease and climate-resistant plants,
- Vertical farming projects,
- Increasing energy efficiency and water recycling,
are included.
Istanbul Closed Vertical Farming Project: İGSAŞ is a solution partner of the 'Closed Vertical Farming Application Center', which was implemented in Istanbul at the end of 2022 under the first public-private partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, marking a new era in the Turkish agricultural sector. High-quality green products are produced 30 meters underground on the -8th floor of the Kağıthane Municipality Car Park, which is the second deepest agricultural production point in the world.
The studies carried out in our R&D center are of great importance for achieving our sustainable agriculture goals. In this direction, 2 patents, 2 utility models, and 15 national/international articles have been published in our R&D center.

At the 'DPÜ TTO 2nd R&D Project Market' event organized by Kütahya Dumlupınar University Technology Transfer Office, our project 'Synthesis of Slow Release Inhibitor' won the first prize. At the R&D Project Market organized by Kocaeli University TTO, we presented our sustainable agriculture projects conducted at the İGSAŞ R&D Center and the products we developed to leave a more livable world for future generations.
Within the scope of the İGSAŞ Smart Agriculture project, we have a prototype named İGSAŞ CEMRE, produced as an air vehicle. The name and brand İGSAŞ CEMRE have been registered by the Turkish Patent Institute. Our project, which we aim to support the works of our İGSAŞ, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, towards Turkish agriculture with technological approaches and innovative methods, was implemented by the İGSAŞ R&D CENTER.
The activities we plan to carry out with this prototype will be in the fields of Corporate Social Responsibility and agriculture. Our planned activity within the scope of Corporate Social Responsibility is as follows: We visited the Principal of Çubuklu Osmaniye Primary School in Kocaeli / Kandıra. Together with the students of Çubuklu Osmaniye Primary and Secondary School, we carried out afforestation by throwing seed balls with the children's names written on them in an open field. In 2020, we carried out the seed ball throwing activity on the factory land in Kütahya. The seed balls we threw sprouted and formed a small forest.
