Also known as Epsomite or Epsom Salt, it is a small crystal structure, white colored fertilizer and is obtained as a result of the reaction of magnesium compounds with sulfuric acid. Since magnesium sulfate, which contains 15% magnesium (MgO) and 28% sulfur (SO3), is completely soluble in water, it can be applied to the soil with both classical and drip/sprinkler/underground infiltration irrigation, and to the leaves with a sprayer. Since magnesium chloride cannot be used in plants that are sensitive to chlorine and there is a sulfur deficiency in the soil, it is an ideal fertilizer for such conditions. It is an effective magnesium fertilizer in very calcareous and high pH soils and can be used as a magnesium source in blending compound fertilizers.
